May is National Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to pause and recognize something we all experience but don’t always talk about openly: the importance of caring for our mental well‑being. Whether you’re a business owner, a parent, a student, or a community member, mental health plays a role in how we show up every day: in our work, our relationships, and our communities.

At Brightside Marketing Co., connection has always been at the heart of the work. Marketing isn’t just strategy and content; it’s people. It’s the stories they carry, the challenges they navigate, and the support systems that help them keep going. That’s why this month holds special meaning.

Why Mental Health Awareness Matters for Small Businesses

Small businesses are built by people who wear a lot of hats, often all at once. It’s easy to prioritize the next task, the next client, or the next deadline and forget to check in with ourselves. But mental health impacts creativity, decision‑making, communication, and the ability to lead with clarity and confidence.

When we talk about mental health in the business world, we’re not just raising awareness. We’re acknowledging the human side of entrepreneurship: the part that deserves just as much care as the business itself.

Giving Back: 5% of Profits from New May Clients Donated to NAMI

To honor National Mental Health Awareness Month, Brightside Marketing Co. will donate 5% of profits from any new clients who begin working with me in May 2026 to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).

NAMI is a nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by mental illness through education, advocacy, and accessible support. Their work helps people feel seen, supported, and empowered, values that align deeply with the mission behind Brightside.

If you’ve been considering marketing support, this month offers an opportunity to invest in your business while also contributing to a cause that strengthens communities everywhere.

How Purpose‑Driven Marketing Creates Real Impact

Marketing with intention goes beyond metrics. It’s about:

  • Building trust through authenticity

  • Creating connection through shared values

  • Supporting communities through meaningful action

  • Using your platform to amplify causes that matter

When businesses lead with purpose, people notice. And more importantly, people feel it.
